Container Storage Terminal (Dry Port) – Algeria

Container Storage Terminal (Dry Port) – Algeria

Client: ATERCO SPA
Location: Djser – Kassenina Industrial Zone, Algeria
Total Developed Area: approx. 13,550 m²

This project consists of the construction of a dry port / container storage terminal within the Djser–Kassenina industrial zone, developed on the property of ATERCO SPA. The facility was designed to support container storage, handling, and internal logistics operations, forming a key industrial infrastructure asset for the region.

The scope of works included extensive earthworks and ground preparation over a total area of approximately 13,550 m², with excavation works carried out to a depth of 1.0 m. The platform was formed using compacted fill layers, including a 0/50 quarry gravel mix applied over a thickness of 75 cm, ensuring adequate load-bearing capacity for heavy container operations.

Reinforced concrete platforms were executed over approximately 7,918 m², using double-layer welded steel mesh reinforcement (Q589/Q589 or equivalent), adapted to the infrastructure requirements of container stacking and handling equipment. In addition, an area of approximately 1,865 m² was completed with bituminous concrete pavement, providing durable circulation and maneuvering zones within the terminal.

Delivered in accordance with applicable technical standards and contractual specifications, the project demonstrates strong expertise in heavy-duty industrial earthworks, reinforced concrete platforms, and logistics-oriented infrastructure. The container storage terminal contributes to the enhancement of industrial logistics capacity and operational efficiency within Algeria’s growing industrial zones.
