Container Storage Terminal – Phase II (Dry Port Expansion), Algeria
Client: ATERCO SPA
Location: Djser – Kassenina Industrial Zone, Algeria
Total Developed Area: approx. 28,855 m²
This project represents the second phase of the container storage terminal developed for ATERCO SPA, executed as a new and independent phase following the successful completion of the initial terminal. Although bearing a similar project name, Phase II was planned and delivered as a separate expansion, responding to increased operational capacity requirements and growing container traffic.
The works covered a total surface area of approximately 28,855 m², including extensive earthworks carried out to a depth of 2.5 m. The ground was engineered using compacted fill layers with a 0/50 quarry gravel mix applied over a thickness of 75 cm, ensuring high load-bearing performance suitable for heavy container stacking and handling operations.
Reinforced concrete platforms were constructed over approximately 10,691 m², incorporating double-layer steel reinforcement, designed to withstand intensive industrial use and heavy equipment circulation. In addition, approximately 2,200 m² of the site was completed with bituminous concrete pavement, providing durable and efficient maneuvering and circulation areas within the terminal.
Delivered in continuity with the first phase yet as a distinct project, this expansion strengthened the overall logistics capacity of the ATERCO container terminal. The project demonstrates solid expertise in large-scale earthworks, heavy-duty pavement systems, and dry port infrastructure, supporting the long-term operational efficiency of Algeria’s industrial logistics network.
