PROJECT INFORMATION

Kaolin Production & Raw Material Storage Facility – Balıkesir, Türkiye

Client: Camiş Madencilik A.Ş.
Enclosed Area: 11,600 m²
Location: Balıkesir, Türkiye

This project involved the construction of a kaolin production facility and raw material storage warehouse developed in Balıkesir for Camiş Madencilik A.Ş., a mining company operating within the Şişecam Group. The facility was designed to support the extraction, processing, and storage of industrial minerals primarily used in the glass and ceramics industries.

Şişecam entered the mining sector in 1988 with the objective of securing its own raw material supply for different industrial activities. Since then, the group has continuously expanded its mining operations, producing essential industrial raw materials for the glass and ceramics sectors. Through sustained investments, Camiş Madencilik A.Ş. has increased its overall production capacity to approximately 4.5 million tons per year, in line with long-term and sustainable growth strategies.

The Balıkesir facility was conceived as part of this strategic expansion, integrating production areas and bulk raw material storage within a single industrial complex. Structural and architectural solutions were tailored to mining and mineral-processing requirements, ensuring durability, efficient material handling, and operational continuity under heavy-duty conditions.

Today, Şişecam operates across nearly 70 mining sites and 18 raw material preparation and beneficiation plants throughout Türkiye, while also providing consultancy and project services related to raw material supply in several countries. Since 1999, the group has maintained active mining production operations in Egypt, further underlining its international footprint. This project reflects strong expertise in mining-related industrial facilities, raw material processing plants, and large-scale storage infrastructure.
