Landscaping, Tree Supply & Planting Works – Sidi Bel Abbès Tramway Line, Algeria
Client: EVSM
Co-Contractor: SARL Mimko Ltd
Location: Algiers, Algeria
This project comprised the supply, planting, and landscaping works for the first tramway line of Sidi Bel Abbès, executed under a public contract awarded by EVSM. The scope covered the tramway alignment and associated public spaces, with the objective of fully integrating the new rail infrastructure into the urban and environmental context of the city.
The works included the procurement and planting of high-stem trees, ornamental trees, shrubs, and groundcover, all executed directly by our teams. The planting palette featured a wide range of species such as Magnolia grandiflora, Nerium oleander (standard form), Cedrus atlantica glauca, Acacia dealbata, Euonymus japonica ‘Aurea’, Photinia fraseri ‘Red Robin’, Tamarix, Ficus australis, Ficus retusa, Pinus pinea, Lagerstroemia, Tilia, and Morus, selected for climatic suitability, durability, and urban landscape value.
All planting and installation works—including excavation of planting pits, soil preparation, positioning, anchoring or guying, irrigation basins, initial watering, and plant establishment guarantees—were carried out within our scope. Quality control and correct planting techniques were key priorities to ensure long-term performance and healthy vegetation growth.
Delivered as a fully integrated supply-and-planting landscaping package, the project significantly enhanced the urban image, environmental quality, and pedestrian comfort along the Sidi Bel Abbès tramway corridor, demonstrating strong expertise in large-scale urban landscaping and public transport infrastructure projects.
