PROJECT INFORMATION

Tramway Line Switch (Turnout) Supply & Installation – Sétif, Algeria

Client: SNTF
Main Contractor: Yapı Merkezi A.Ş. – Alstom Consortium
Line Length: 15.2 km | 26 Stations + CDM Maintenance Facility
Location: Sétif, Algeria

This project covers the supply and installation of tramway switches (turnouts) for the 15.2 km Sétif Tramway Line, delivered as part of the Yapı Merkezi – Alstom Consortium works for SNTF. The tramway system includes 26 stations and a CDM maintenance workshop, forming a major urban transport corridor within the city of Sétif.

The scope of works included the procurement, delivery, installation, and alignment of tramway switch systems, integrated into the concrete track slab and surrounding infrastructure. The works required high precision in track geometry, fastening systems, and interface coordination to ensure smooth vehicle transitions, operational safety, and long-term durability under intensive urban tramway operations.

Installation activities were carried out in coordination with civil works, track slab construction, and embedded utilities. Special attention was given to tolerance control, load transfer zones, drainage interfaces, and compatibility with signaling and traction systems, ensuring full compliance with tramway technical standards and consortium specifications.

Executed as a critical component of the overall tramway infrastructure, the switch supply and installation works contributed directly to the operational flexibility, reliability, and safety of the Sétif Tramway Line. The project demonstrates strong expertise in urban rail trackwork, tramway turnout systems, and complex interface management within large-scale public transport projects.
