Tramway Maintenance Workshop – Algeria
Client: SNTF
Main Contractor: Yapı Merkezi A.Ş.
Total Site Area: 28,250 m²
Location: Algeria
This project involves the construction of a tramway maintenance workshop complex developed for SNTF, delivered under the main contractorship of Yapı Merkezi A.Ş. The facility was designed as a key operational hub for tramway maintenance, administration, and support functions, serving the long-term needs of the urban rail system.
The complex is established on a site of approximately 28,250 m² and includes 105,000 m² of built area distributed across multiple functional buildings. These comprise a Main Administration and Social Facilities building (3,000 m²), a Locomotive Maintenance Workshop (45,000 m²), Rolling Stock Storage and Depot Areas (50,000 m²), Internal Cleaning Facilities (7,800 m²), External Cleaning Units (700 m²), and six dedicated maintenance blocks, ensuring comprehensive operational coverage.
The scope executed by our teams focused on the structural works, steel construction, architectural shells, and primary infrastructure, requiring precise coordination with rail systems, internal tracks, and maintenance equipment layouts. High-bay steel structures, integrated service trenches, and industrial-grade flooring systems were implemented to support heavy-duty tram maintenance operations.
Completed as a major component of the overall tramway system, the maintenance workshop stands as a strategic rail infrastructure facility, reflecting strong expertise in large-scale industrial buildings, rail maintenance depots, and complex transport-related construction projects.
